how to read the labels of clothes

WASHING SIGNS

First of all the symbols are presented in the following order:
1) washing ,
2) bleaching,
3) straightening
4) dry cleaning,
5) dryer (tumble still do not take time to Italy).

The label is then a sequence of five symbols that inform on how to wash and general care of each garment. There are cases where the suit, the shirt, pants ... any garment is composed of several types of tissue. In these cases it is obvious and wise to follow the instructions regarding the most fragile part of the product.

1) Cleaning

Hand wash only, wash normally, squeezing gently.

Machine wash at maximum temperature indicated.
30 ° for soft colors. Reduced mechanical action, normal rinse and spin normal.
40 ° for colored T-shirts and underwear with elastic. Reduced mechanical action, normal rinse and spin normal.
60 ° for colored linens. Mechanical action normal normal normal rinse and spin.
95 ° white sheet. Mechanical action normal rinsing normal spinning normal.

The dashes under the symbol indicating the type of program: No hyphen cotton program (full speed). Normal mechanical action, normal rinse and spin. A dash on a synthetic (average speed). Mechanical action reduced, decreasing temperature rinse and spin reduced. Two dashes Wool program (minimum speed).

not wash.

2) Drying

tumble dry.
The dot at the center of the symbol indicates the maximum temperature: No restrictions No point temperature. A low-temperature drying (60 ° C).
Colon normal drying.

do not tumble dry.

Allow to air dry. Stretch immediately after washing.

Let dry on a hanger.

Dry peers.

3) Ironing

Iron with iron. The points at the center of the symbol indicate the temperature: A cold iron Iron at point (110 °): acrylic, nylon, acetate. Colon Iron at hot iron (150 °): polyester, wool. Three points in Iron iron is hot (200 °): cotton, linen.

not iron or iron very soft (T-shirts printed, for example).

4) Professional Cleaning

Indicates a professional cleaning.
The letter specifies the type of washing.
Vacuum or dry cleaning for all types of solvent.
F Dry clean petroleum-based solvents with the R113 and hydrocarbon type solvent (petroleum spirits). P
Dry clean with the usual solvents, based on perc, hydrocarbon solvent and R113 (But without trichlorethylene).
W Wash water but no products.

Dashes indicate the restrictions under the symbols: A dash
reduction washing (water quantity, mechanical stress, temperature, temperature drying). Two dashes
Sharp reduction in cleaning (amount of water, mechanical stress, temperature, temperature drying).

Do not dry clean.

Do not wash.

You can 'bleach.

Do not bleach.

Molto Tossico, Tossico
This should not find it, but then you have a good excuse for not putting it among the things to wash !!!!! !

In addition, other bits of advice:

For all tissues,
- if possible, avoid high temperatures
- if the label allows, opt for the washing machine rather than hand
- the clothes to dry in the sun more easily felted
- choose the bleach bleach rather than attacking the fibers
- lined clothing should always be dry-cleaned

again ..
- the wool shrinks if washed in very hot water and deforms when it is hung
- cotton stretch easily and should be washed separately when it is colored
- silk can not stand hot water or centrifuge and must be washed Dry
- wool, silk, fabrics that lose their color and heads involving metal and leather items should never be soaked.
